Who are you?
My name is Joe Litobarski. You can read more about me on my “About Me” page.
What data do you collect from website visitors?
When visitors leave comments on my site it collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
How does your website use cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data which your browser stores at the request of websites you visit. If you leave a comment on my site, it will save your name, email address, and blog and post subscription choices in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.
How long will you retain my data?
Cookies will last for a maximum of one year.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata (e.g. date of comment submission and the email linked to the comment) are retained indefinitely. This is so my website can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights do I have over my data?
If you have left comments, you can request (using my website feedback form) that I erase those comments and any personal data my website holds about you.
Where do you send my data?
Visitor comments and contact form submission data – IP address, user agent, name, email address, and message – is submitted to the Akismet service (owned by Automattic) for the sole purpose of spam checking.
